Learn from The Masters: David Hockney Landscapes

$75.00

Friday, October 24th, 1:00 PM 0 4:00 PM at the Atherton Arts Foundation Studio in Holbrook Palmer Park, Atherton, CA. Join us for an inspirational look at David Hockney’s storied career as one of the greatest painters of our time, viewed through his landscape painting. This takes us from his 1975 painting of Nichols Canyon in LA 1975 through to painting his native Yorkshire from memory in 1998, just before he discovered he could paint on his iPhone and then the new iPad. In addition to his fabulous output of landscapes on his iPad from 2000 to the current day, Hockney continued to work with traditional media, including charcoal drawings (2002) and watercolor sketches (2004) and oil paintings of his native Yorkshire and new home in Normandy. In the workshop’s painting session, we will work with different media. If you love your iPad, bring it! Otherwise, we will have watercolor and acrylic paint, paper and canvases ready for you.
