Directors

  • Caroline Mustard: Executive Director

Caroline began her art journey in the UK at just four years old and has been creating ever since. A graduate of the renowned Brighton College of Art, she co-founded The Joy of Drawing with fellow Brit Katy Lea after years of teaching drawing and painting around Silicon Valley. When the pandemic struck, they wrote The Joy of Drawing: A Beginner’s Manual (available on Amazon), and transitioned their teaching online. This evolution led to the founding of The Joy of Drawing, Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to inspiring creativity and enriching lives through art. Caroline is also an exhibiting artist based in San Francisco, where she lives near her family.

Instructors

  • Agnes Wong

Agnes came to the Joy of Drawing from a career in business management. She now teaches many of our library art classes. During the pandemic, she reconnected with the creative arts in a much more hands-on way, which has rekindled her love of drawing. She enjoys helping others get started on their artistic journeys.

  • Mindy Chang

Mindy joined The Joy of Drawing through our library teaching program. She is a perfect representation of the meld of art and science.  She holds a PhD in Neural Science from Stanford University, but her active study and love of art have become equally, if not more important in her life. She is a gifted instructor and we are proud to have her on the team.

  • Teresa Landry

Teresa joined The Joy of Drawing after 10+ years working as a Technical Recruiter with tech companies, and universities. She is now focused on her love of art and bringing together local communities. She currently volunteers with the Friends of the Library, and hosts beach clean-ups in her spare time. Teresa loves teaching fun techniques with watercolor and collage and hopes to spread her love of art to Bay Area residents.
